I am delighted to announce that TConsult has opened its first branch outside the UK, in Malta. The UK parent company has seen a solid and sustained growth of its regulatory compliance services since its formation twenty-one years ago with several of its contracts being sourced from Maltese financial institutions and from other financial firms in southern Europe.

More recently, the company has developed the Tax Compliance Toolkit, the Tax Compliance Academy and the Investor Self-Declaration system (ISD) which takes the company through an evolutionary phase into being a regtech firm as well as one the most respected regulatory compliance specialists in the world outside the big 4.

We have also seen a significant increase in relationships with other third-party regtech and fintech firms with complementary offerings with which our new products can easily integrate to give our mutual clients a more efficient, effective and frictionless compliance platform.

Malta has an important position for us in the financial markets geographically, which made it an easy choice for us. Our recently promoted branch manager, Stefan Darmanin, used to work in the statutory reporting function at Malta’s largest bank, Bank of Valletta.

We continue to service clients in nineteen countries including in Australia, Singapore, South America, the USA and Europe. Our expansion into Malta reinforces the importance of Europe to our business especially considering the development of the EU’s FASTER Directive which will present many compliance challenges to EU Member States as well as non-EU financial institutions hoping to establish substantial equivalencies to the FASTER model in order to benefit non-EU residents investing in European capital markets.
